"I wonder...."
Have you ever observed a child sitting
quietly and just looking up? Not at a
bird or a tree or that spot on the
ceiling, just looking…UP. I wonder if
in their innocent, uncorrupted way,
they’re communicating with God.
Before moving to Houston, I was
living in the Rio Grande Valley of
Texas, where there had been no
measurable snowfall in the last
hundred years or so. On Christmas
Eve, 2004, we received over three
inches of the white stuff, and
everyone woke up on Christmas
morning to a winter wonderland. Most
of these people had never seen snow,
and they ran outdoors past decorated
trees and brightly wrapped presents to
play in it, young and old alike.
I think a child asked God for a white
Christmas, not understanding that it
was impossible.
I think a loving God said...“Why not?”
Listen to children my friends...God
does.
