Eye Hath Not Seen
A multiplicity of lilies
Not just one, but tens and more,
Varied colors, sweetest fragrance,
Lined the walk way by the shore.
Mystified by such sheer grandeur
“Lord, your love for beauty shows”.
Diversified in style and purpose
Magnificent, and still more grows.
Tall palms waving in such beauty,
Maples lined against the fence,
Spreading Oaks with great dimensions,
Pines that whisper in the wind,
Flowers hanging from Catalpas,
Fruit trees fit for a King’
“Lord, how greatly do you love us,
For you’ve made so many things!”
Cattle grazing on the hillside,
Chickens feeding in the pens,
Pigs that roll in muddy waters,
Sheep that give their wool to men,
Turkeys, guineas, ducks and goslings,
And the number never ends,
“Lord, your love for all your creatures
Is a love that has no end!”
Faithful in their routine journey,
Within the canopy of the sky,
Not just one, but millions, billions,
Sparkling, beckoning, from on high.
How they shine forth in their splendor,
Richest sapphires, rubies, gold,
“Lord, how much you must love beauty
The stars for centuries have told.”
The birds sing forth in early morning.
‘Midst the trees and lowly bush,
Not just one, but different species,
Special tones to match each wish.
All the colors of the rainbow,
Reds and yellows, blues and greens,
“Lord, how much you must love beauty,
For the birds sing of your dreams.”

Well, my eyes have seen such wonders,
And my mind can’t comprehend,
The extravagant way you do things,
All the luxuries that you send!
But I know it’s just a foretaste
Of the wonders that you hold,
That you’ll share with all your children
For your WORD has told us so!
